'Karlson' Character Sheet

Name: Karlson (Last name)

Age: 16

Appearance: Karlson has a muscular body. Her eyes are a bright green and her short, boyish hair is red. She often wears boy's clothes and tries to look like one as much as possible, knowing that boys are less pitied. There are multiple, small scars all over her, but one large one stretching across her shoulder blades, which she proudly shows off to her friends. She is also rarely clean and typically has a dirty face.

Personality: Karlson can change her personality in the snap of a finger. She becomes whatever she needs to be to get work. Socially though, when she first meets someone, she will be kind and polite. When she gets to know you a little better, she will be a little more relaxed, but still polite. However, with her friends (which are very nearly strictly boys) she can be as boorish and rude as the next. However, she is the most loyal person anyone could find. She's companionate with the younger street children. If she sees anyone bullying them, she will attack them mercilessly. She will do this with any of her friends. This could also lead to her downfall, as she doesn't think in these occasions. The street children look up to her as their mothers. She's grateful of those who help her, but wary, and slightly jealous, of anyone with a lot of money.

Strengths: Karlson is good at manipulating people. She's also good with hand-to-hand combat, as well as with knives. She's very good with her hands, resourceful, and can survive in the wild almost indefinitely. She can pick pockets if need be, and is very good at strategizing.   

Weaknesses: Guns and bows are not her strong spot, as she never had any practice with them. Also, the scar along her back restricts her turning all the way around. Karlson's extremely claustrophobic, and can also be rash.

History: Karlson's story is like every other orphan on the streets. Both of her parents died when she was ten, to a common disease. However, instead of going to live with her aunt or even go to an orphanage, she ran away. Due to the knowledge her father had given her, she lived a year in the wild before journeying to the city. There she took up the name "Karlson", the last name of a character in her favorite book. She accepted any job that she could get, from any person. Legally, her hands weren't the cleanest. She decided to live as a boy, knowing that life would be a little easier. Besides, she hated being a "good girl" (Note: She has no real desire to physically be a male) She was known as a boy to most of the people she knew, and the few people that knew she was a girl treated her as such. She didn't really trust anyone enough to become friends though. After a year, she settled into life. One day though, she saw a street boy being mugged in an ally. Without thinking, she jumped in to defend him. The attacker and her fought for a while, her with her own hands, him with a knife. When she thought that he was down, she turned to see if the boy was alright. That was when the mugger drug the knife along her shoulder blades and pushed her to the ground, where she passed out. When she woke up, the boy, along with three others were carrying her to a hospital. She was released two days later, but this time, with four new friends: James (the boy she had helped), Clarke, Richard, and Arthur. She became very close to them, and befriended a few other people. They all share any money they may have at the time, and once a month, go out drinking. Karlson hates being drunk. It makes her feel slow and stupid, so she usually takes one round, out of kindness. She lives a happy life, despite all the trouble she gets into.
