I believe I was a tear today
I've never been a tear before
It was very peculiar
And not at all pleasant like I thought it would be

It was at night when she shed me
Sitting on her front stoop
Under the light of a halfhearted moon
I whispered across her cheek
And noted her carefully painted lips
They were the same shade of red
As the apple she had eaten two weeks prior
Which brought me to her

I dripped off her chin around that time
Leaving me on the sidewalk beside her
To dry once morning came
But she did not leave
She did not go inside to face her monsters
She was afraid

I do not want to be a tear again
So, in the camp I'm working at, we did a game where you were a water droplet and had to go through the water cycle, and then write a story about it. While I was helping them out, I thought of this. Stupid, yes, but at least it's something.
